Licensed local Realtors serving Murphy, honest pricing guidance, professional marketing, and listing options that fit how much help you actually want.
Murphy is a compact, established community where most homes trade on condition and timing, both things we read well locally. Since 2019, the McDonald Group has helped buyers and sellers across DFW and North Texas, brokered by Fathom Realty, with our office in McKinney.
Already have your buyer, or just need a licensed pro to carry the deal from contract to close? This is the lean option.
Full MLS exposure managed remotely. You take the photos and handle access, we run everything else.
The works. We make the home look its best, market it everywhere, and stay hands-on through closing.
Every tier, including Transaction Only, comes with a licensed Texas agent's full statutory duties: we present every offer, answer your questions, and keep you informed of material information throughout the sale.
Commissions and fees are not set by law and are fully negotiable. The fees above are The McDonald Group's standard listing tiers; final terms are set in your written listing agreement. Buyer's agent compensation, if any, is separate and discussed before you list.
First home, upgrade, or investment, we guide Murphy buyers through search, offer strategy, financing connections, and closing. Browse North Texas listings or reach out below and tell us what you're looking for.

Corridors, build era, and taxing boundaries shape what you can buy in Murphy and what it costs to hold.
Murphy covers about 5.7 square miles on FM 544 between Plano and Wylie, just north of the President George Bush Turnpike. The turnpike's opening around 2000 triggered the city's build-out; before that it was farmland, and one- to five-acre lots platted in the 1980s now sit beside the late-1990s and 2000s subdivisions that filled the rest. Ringed by Plano, Richardson, Sachse, Wylie, and Parker, Murphy has no room to annex and is effectively finished. Plano ISD and Wylie ISD each serve parts of the city.
Murphy sits in Collin County, where the combined property tax rate runs about 1.70 percent of market value for the 2025 tax year, ranging 1.55 to 2.30 percent depending on the school district. On a $350,000 home with a homestead exemption that works out to roughly $377 a month. The Texas homestead exemption reduces only the school district portion, not the county or city portion, which is the detail most online estimates miss.
Taxes and insurance are a large share of a monthly payment in Texas, so a national mortgage estimate will understate what a Murphy home actually costs to hold.
