White Settlement is a separate municipality wrapped by Fort Worth on the west side, bordered directly by the Lockheed Martin plant and Naval Air Station Fort Worth JRB at Carswell Field. Its housing is overwhelmingly small postwar stock built for the wartime and Cold War aircraft workforce, which means older mechanical systems and more as-is condition sales than the newer suburbs to the north and east. Loop 820 runs along the west edge and White Settlement Road is the main east-west route. White Settlement ISD covers the city and extends into adjacent parts of Fort Worth.
