Azle sits on SH 199, the Jacksboro Highway, in the northwest corner of Tarrant County, with part of the city extending into Parker County. It fronts the west side of Eagle Mountain Lake, a Tarrant Regional Water District reservoir impounded on the West Fork of the Trinity in the 1930s, so waterfront lots and older lake cabins are part of the local mix.
