Azle sits on SH 199, the Jacksboro Highway, in the northwest corner of Tarrant County, with part of the city extending into Parker County. It fronts the west side of Eagle Mountain Lake, a Tarrant Regional Water District reservoir impounded on the West Fork of the Trinity in the 1930s, so waterfront lots and older lake cabins are part of the local mix. Azle ISD crosses Tarrant, Parker, and Wise county lines and also serves Lakeside, Pelican Bay, Reno, and Sanctuary, so taxing jurisdictions change from address to address.
Azle sits in Parker County, where the combined property tax rate runs about 1.71 percent of market value for the 2025 tax year, ranging 1.55 to 2.00 percent depending on the school district. On a $350,000 home with a homestead exemption that works out to roughly $376 a month. The Texas homestead exemption reduces only the school district portion, not the county or city portion, which is the detail most online estimates miss.
