Springtown sits near the northern edge of Parker County where SH 199 and SH 51 meet, northwest of Fort Worth. Its square dates to the town's 1859 layout, and the open tabernacle standing there now was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1936 to replace the original. Outside the small city core, much of the area is larger-lot and acreage property on private wells and septic, which in Parker County means a site evaluation and a county permit for a new or replacement system.
