Your Kaufman Realtor

Licensed local Realtors serving Kaufman, honest pricing guidance, professional marketing, and listing options that fit how much help you actually want.

Local, not long-distance

We work Kaufman from the seat of Kaufman County southeast of the metro.

Kaufman is a county-seat town with a mix of older homes and surrounding farmland, exactly where a straightforward as-is cash close often fits. Since 2019, the McDonald Group has helped buyers and sellers across DFW and North Texas, brokered by Fathom Realty, with our office in McKinney.

Every tier, including Transaction Only, comes with a licensed Texas agent's full statutory duties: we present every offer, answer your questions, and keep you informed of material information throughout the sale.

Commissions and fees are not set by law and are fully negotiable. The fees above are The McDonald Group's standard listing tiers; final terms are set in your written listing agreement. Buyer's agent compensation, if any, is separate and discussed before you list.

The ground here

What is Kaufman, TX like?

Corridors, build era, and taxing boundaries shape what you can buy in Kaufman and what it costs to hold.

Kaufman is the county seat, where US 175 and SH 34 meet southeast of Dallas. The town square has anchored the street grid since the 1850s, but the current courthouse is a 1956 building that replaced an 1887 Second Empire structure, so the square reads newer than those in Waxahachie or Weatherford. US 175 runs as a divided highway toward Dallas, and SH 34 carries north to I-20 at Terrell. Past the city limits, tracts shift to septic and rural water, and Kaufman ISD reaches well beyond the city line.

What are property taxes in Kaufman, TX?

Kaufman sits in Kaufman County, where the combined property tax rate runs about 1.92 percent of market value for the 2025 tax year, ranging 1.75 to 2.25 percent depending on the school district. On a $350,000 home with a homestead exemption that works out to roughly $428 a month. The Texas homestead exemption reduces only the school district portion, not the county or city portion, which is the detail most online estimates miss.

Taxes and insurance are a large share of a monthly payment in Texas, so a national mortgage estimate will understate what a Kaufman home actually costs to hold.
