Lewisville sits at the Interstate 35E and State Highway 121 junction about 25 miles northwest of Dallas, with a small portion extending into Dallas County. Old Town along Main Street predates the highway era, while most of the housing stock followed the Garza Little Elm Dam that impounded Lewisville Lake and the rerouting of I-35E off the old US 77 alignment. That leaves large tracts of 1960s through 1980s stock that often trades in as-is condition. Lewisville ISD is headquartered here and its boundary extends beyond the city limits.
