Southlake runs along the SH 114 corridor between Grapevine Lake and the Westlake line, north of DFW Airport. Southlake Town Square functions as a purpose-built downtown rather than a historic one, since the city had no significant commercial core before it. Zoning favored large residential lots early and most construction dates from the 1990s onward, so the stock is newer and lower in density than the mid-cities to the south. Bob Jones Park and its nature center occupy lake shoreline at the north end, and Carroll ISD covers most addresses with Keller, Grapevine-Colleyville and Northwest ISD taking edges.
Southlake sits in Tarrant County, where the combined property tax rate runs about 2.06 percent of market value for the 2025 tax year, ranging 1.85 to 2.40 percent depending on the school district. On a $350,000 home with a homestead exemption that works out to roughly $480 a month.
