Commissions and fees are not set by law and are fully negotiable. The fees above are The McDonald Group's standard listing tiers; final terms are set in your written listing agreement. Buyer's agent compensation, if any, is separate and discussed before you list.

The ground here

What is Watauga, TX like?

Corridors, build era, and taxing boundaries shape what you can buy in Watauga and what it costs to hold.

Watauga is one of the smaller mid-cities municipalities, with no freeway inside it and nearly all commercial frontage on Denton Highway (US 377), which runs along its western side. It filled in on small lots between the 1960s and the 1980s and is now fully built out, so activity here is renovation and resale rather than new construction. Capp Smith Park sits on the creek corridor at the south end. The city is split between Birdville ISD across most of it and Keller ISD in the northwest, putting two school tax rates inside one city.

What are property taxes in Watauga, TX?

Watauga sits in Tarrant County, where the combined property tax rate runs about 2.06 percent of market value for the 2025 tax year, ranging 1.85 to 2.40 percent depending on the school district. On a $350,000 home with a homestead exemption that works out to roughly $480 a month. The Texas homestead exemption reduces only the school district portion, not the county or city portion, which is the detail most online estimates miss.

Taxes and insurance are a large share of a monthly payment in Texas, so a national mortgage estimate will understate what a Watauga home actually costs to hold.
